WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

The Connectional YACM Steering Committee would like to officially welcome the Reverends Brian and Felica Thompson as the new advisors of the Young Adult In Christian Ministries.
Rev. Brian R. Thompson, Sr. was born November 1 in Chapel Hill, NC. He was educated in the Chatham County and continued his education at Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. He obtained a Masters in Theological Studies and is continuing his education at Duke Divinity School to obtain his Master of Divinity.
He is married to Rev. Felica Raines Thompson who was born September 11 in Washington, DC. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Not long after receiving her degree, she became a Business Education Teacher and Varsity Cheerleading Coach in the Wake County Public School System.
In November of 2001, Rev. B. Thompson was appointed to Simon Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, where he currently serves as their full time pastor. God has blessed Simon Temple to become one of the fastest growing churches in Zion, over 1,000 souls have been led to the Lord and more than 2,500 have joined the church under his leadership.
They are the proud parents of two healthy miracles from God – Alexis (9) and Brian II (7).
We are really excited to have them as our new advisor and look forward to working with them. But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Ms. Tysha Jonique Thompson
YACM MEMBER OF THE MONTH

We the members of the connectional YACM Public Relations Committee would like to announce Ms. Tysha Jonique Thompson as our March YACM Member of the month. She is the Local Director of YACM for the Little Rock AME Zion Church in Charlotte, NC.

Statement from the Immediate Past Southeastern Regional Chair
Ms. Constance Leach

As immediate past Southeastern Regional Chair I can truly say that the involvement, the excitement and the commitment level of this local church YACM department has really grown and and is doing exceptionally well with this ministry.. This is Ms. Thompson first year as director and you would think she been around since our inception as a department. I personally don t know much about her but can say that she has implemented a lot of programs and ministry concepts since her appointment from her pastor. One of the programs is entitled "First Friday". This program seems to be very successful. The format is very open and inclusive of varied forms of Ministry. As Young Adults and Young Adult Directors, I feel that we should catch this same epidemic of being excited, willing, and eager, and ON FIRE to serve our present church.
*Ms. Leach is the one who recommended Ms. Thompson*

Statement form her pastor the Rev. Dr. DeWayne Anthony Walker

I am pleased to submit a statement regarding Ms. Tysha Thompson. I appointed Tysha this past conference year as Director of YACM at Little Rock A.M.E.Zion. I appointed her because I had observed the level of commitment and enthusiasm she had for the ministry, and believed she would be a blessing to that department. Since taking on this appointment, Tysha has been on fire! She has shared some great ideas for bringing our Young Adults together not just in YACM, but in every ministry of the church. She has such a warm personality and a desire to serve God through her church. She attends almost everything we have, and takes pictures so that those who may have missed it, will get a sense of what occurred. Her enthusiasm is contagious! I am noticing other Young Adults stepping up and becoming active through her example and encouragement. Not only is she reaching out to Young Adults in Little Rock but throughout the District, Conference, Region and Connection. I praise God for her and the leadership she is providing.

We SALUTE you Ms. Tysha Jonique Thompson and we ask that you keep up the good work because Zion needs you!!!!
